“Alliance – in international politics, the union of two thieves who have their hands so deeply inserted in each other’s pockets that they cannot separately plunder a third.”
Ambrose Bierce – The Devil’s Dictionary

I am going to start with the religious organizations throughout Fenwrath. I know. I know. “But thats so many much religions”, you say. Like I have mentioned in other articles one of the first things I did for Fenwrath was make a pantheon of deities for people to worship. It only makes sense that they would have followers of people devoted to their respective causes.
Just to make sure you don’t get bored, I may throw in a random organization here or there until I am finished. After all….there are alot of them.
The Way of the Tattooed Soul
I had originally seen a Monk Tradition for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition on Reddit and it gave the idea of introducing a group of people that focused their way of life around this idea.
This collection of like minded individuals was founded during the Calamity. As the name suggests they are a group devoted to the ink. As individuals they practice a monastic lifestyle and have a tendency to keep themselves secluded. They did however have safehavens where they could teach their masterful artistry. One of the last remaining safehavens is within the city of Zhenith in the Northern portion of Fenwrath.
During the Calamity they were one of the many groups that was founded solely to protect mortals from the droves of demons and devils roaming the Prime Material Plane. Unfortunately, following the Calamity, almost no written works on the Way of the Tattooed Soul seemed to have survived. Everything that has been learned comes from various scholars visiting their monastary within Zhenith.
While this particular organization falls under the religious category, they do not draw any power from the gods. They have a spiritual connection to the Prime Material Plane that manifests itself through the tattoos they cover their bodies in. This process is very similar to how a priest may wield his holy symbol, or a wizard my wield a wand. Monks in the Way of the Tattooed Soul spend years honing their artistic abilities and learning the enchantment techniques it takes to embue ink with arcane power.
The monks within this order value strength and honor above all else, and have a strict sense of right and wrong. The techniques they teach are passed down from generation to generation and are kept secret from outsiders. If you are lucky enough to learn any of their highly sought after techniques, be warned. They do not take to kindly to people spreading their secrets.
More to follow on this organization and the many others that call Fenwrath home. Thanks for wasting your time here. 🙂

This is great!
