Homebrew Items

This post will have a list of some of the homebrew items I have made and utilize in my current campaign.

Whisper EarringSending Paper
Wondrous Item, UncommonWondrous Item, Uncommon
Slot: EAR Value: 100-501 GPSlot: Backpack Value: 10-100 GP/Sheet
This enchanted earring can send and receive the Message spell to and from other connected earrings within 500 ft. To send a message the wearer must activate the earring by touching it. The earring will always passively receive messages. If the receiver is out of range they will hear nothing.
Earrings can be connected by physically holding them together for 10 minutes, this connection is broken if both earrings are not within a 5 mile radius of each other for at least a week.
This item was created by Matthew Mercer.
This paper can be used to cast the “Sending” spell without the 25 word limit, and only across your current plane of existence. The recipient will feel a slight itching on their palm and will receive the letter when they open their hand.
In order to send a letter with this paper, you must know the recipient personally, or know their full name. If the recipient is unconscious or dead the sender will feel a itching on their palm and the letter will return to their hand.
Lightweight ItemsScattergun
Weapon, UncommonMartial Ranged Weapon, Rare
Slot: Varies slot Value: VariesDamage: 1d8 Value: 750 GP
This item is usually non-magical though some items have been enchanted to be lighter.
This item type removes the Heavy property from large items, or adds the Light and Finesse properties to a weapon that lacks the Heavy or Two-Handed properties. Items made with this property are typically made from lightweight metals and are sleek or thinner than their typical counterparts.
This shotgun style weapon may be integrated into the forearm of a Warforged, Crafted Construct, or a strong prosthetic limb. It is typically fired from the palm of the hand. When you make a ranged attack roll (without Scattershot) against a target that is adjacent to you (5ft.) you double the damage from the attack. (This property may be changed to a critical hit as determined by your DM.)
Scattershot: As a bonus action, you can swap the ammunition to Scattershot. Make a ranged weapon attack against each target in a 30ft. cone. On a hit the targets suffer 1d8 piercing damage. If you hit a target adjacent to you (5ft.) all other attacks in the cone suffer disadvantage.
Firearms are a new and volatile technology, and as such bring their own unique set of weapon properties. Due to this firearm being integrated into the forearm, it requires two hands to stabilize the shot.
Properties: Reload: 1-2, Misfire: 3, Ammunition, Two-handed, Range: 5/15
